Police are appealing for help to trace a 21-year-old woman who was last seen in Glasgow city centre on Friday night.

Officers are searching for Lybi Halliday, from Hamilton, who is believed to have been making her way from Trongate to Glasgow Central to catch a train home.

She is described as white, 5 ft 3 to 5 ft 4 in height, of slim build, with long dark hair tied up in a ponytail.

She was wearing a dark green checked shirt with a white crop top tied in the middle, baggy blue ripped jeans, sunglasses and was carrying a small black handbag.

Sergeant Louise McLenaghan, Hamilton Police Station, said: “Lybi was last seen in the Trongate, Glasgow city centre, around 11.30 pm and was believed to have been making her way to Central Station to get her train home. However, she didn’t arrive home and so her family called police.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have seen her or has any information on her whereabouts to get in touch with police via 101. Please quote reference number 1136 of 1 May, 2021, when calling.

“We’d also appeal to Lybi herself to get in touch with police or her family who are concerned for her wellbeing.”
