Police have launched an appeal after a man was attacked on a street in East Kilbride and left in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the Maxwell Drive area at around 1.10am on Sunday.

A 34-year-old man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment after being assaulted.

Officers are now attemping to trace a man who was wearing a white t-shirt, black trousers and holding a black jacket in his hand.

Detective sergeant Jim Williamson said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have private CCTV or dash-cam footage which may assist us to get in touch.”
