A man seen wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask at the time of the incident is being sought by police.

Police have appealed for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in Paisley.

Officers were alerted at around 12.30am on Saturday to reports of a vehicle on fire in Anchor Street.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, whilst nobody was hurt.

Police are treating the incident as deliberate and have appealed for anyone who has information to contact them.

They are seeking a male suspect described as approximately 5ft 7in who was wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask.

Detective Constable James Campbell said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this completely reckless act.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information which may assist enquiries to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0149 of September 25, 2021.
