A person has been struck by a train between East Kilbride and Thornliebank railway stations.

ScotRail confirmed the incident on Twitter at around 9am on Sunday morning.

The condition of the person is not yet known.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “Sadly, we have received reports of a person being struck by a train between East Kilbride and Thornliebank.

“We’re working closely with emergency services during this time. Train services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride will be cancelled or revised.”
