Person seen 'illegally' riding electric scooter in Clyde Tunnel

The tunnel is a main passage under the River Clyde, which connects Glasgow's southside to the city's north-west end.

Video has been circulated on social media of a person riding an electric scooter through Glasgow’s Clyde Tunnel.

Dressed in all-black and wearing an off-white bucket hat, the person appears to be oblivious to the traffic built-up behind them early on Monday morning.

People in the car stuck behind them can be heard expressing their disappointment in the footage.

They were left unable to overtake the rider due to the double solid white lines.

Glasgow City Council confirmed that it is illegal to ride an electric scooter on any part of the public roads network in Scotland.

However, Police Scotland said they had not received any reports of the incident.

The tunnel is a main passage under the River Clyde, which connects Glasgow’s southside to the city’s north-west end.
