Concerns are growing as police appeal to trace a 51-year-old man from Glasgow who has been missing for over a week.
John Hunter was last seen in the Fastnet Street area of Cranhill around 10pm on Friday, July 3.
He was then captured on CCTV walking south towards Bellrock Street around half an hour later.
Police said it is out of character for him to not be in contact with his family or friends and is urging people in the community to check any outbuildings or sheds in the search for him.
Mr Hunter is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, and of slim build with short, brown hair. He has a tattoo on his left arm.
It is believed he may be dressed in grey tracksuit bottoms and grey hooded top with black trainers, and he usually wears glasses.
Inspector David MacLean said: “We are really concerned about John’s welfare as it’s completely out of character for him to be out of contact with his family and friends for so long.
“We are asking for people local to the Cranhill and Craigend areas to please keep an eye out for him and report any potential sightings.
“I would also request the community check any outbuildings and sheds for anything that could assist with our enquiries.
“We would also urge John, if he sees this appeal, or anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2589 of Friday, July 10, 2026.
