A pensioner is in hospital with serious injuries after being knocked down by a car in South Ayrshire.
The 82-year-old woman was struck by the vehicle around 10.45am on Monday, June 6, on the A77 near Vicarton Street in Girvan.
She was taken to hospital with serious injuries however the driver of the black Citroen C4 was unharmed.
Police are now investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses at the scene of the crash.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Ayrshire Road Policing Unit, said: “An elderly woman sustained serious injuries as a result of this crash and I am appealing for anyone witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also urge anyone with dashcam footage that could assist our investigation to contact police.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1092 of June 6.”
