A pensioner has died in a three-car crash near a farm in Carluke that left another driver requiring hospital treatment.
The 81-year-old’s Toyota Aygo was involved in the collision with a grey Peugeot and white Audi shortly after 3.40pm on Tuesday, August 16.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at the A721 Kilncadzow Road near its junction with Leemuir Farm, however the man was pronounced dead a short time later.
A woman, driving the Peugeot, was also taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where she was treated and later discharged.
The third driver was uninjured in the incident.
Police have now launched an appeal for information and have asked anyone who may have caught footage of the crash on a dashboard-mounted camera to share their footage with investigators.
Road policing sergeant Roy McCarney said: “A number of members of the public came to help those involved in the crash and we have spoken to most of them, however, we would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened and who has not yet been in touch with police.
“I am particularly keen to obtain any dash-cam footage of the crash or the area beforehand if possible.
“If you have any information that will assist officers with their investigation, then please call 101 quoting reference number 2013 of Tuesday, August 16.”
