A number of pedestrians have been taken to hospital after a vehicle crash in East Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services attended the incident on Manse Road in Bearsden, which took place shortly before 5pm on Boxing Day.

Police have launched an investigation into the road traffic collision as they look to determine its circumstances.

Officers confirmed there were injuries to more than one person as a result of the crash.

However, they could not provide an update on their condition.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "About 4.55pm on Thursday, December 26, a report was received that a road traffic collision had taken place on Manse Road, Bearsden.

"Police and ambulance attended and it was established that a number of pedestrians had been injured as a result of the incident.

"They have been taken to hospital in the Greater Glasgow area. There is no update on their injuries meantime.

"Officers are at the scene and an investigation into the circumstances is under way."
