A pedestrian was taken to hospital after emergency services responded to reports that a car crashed into a building.

The incident took place at around 12.40pm on Saturday, May 28, on Main Street in Prestwick.

Police closed the road for almost an hour following the collision.

Officers said that a woman was taken to Ayr Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car was not injured as a result of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm on Saturday, 28 May, 2022, police were called to the Main Street area of Prestwick, following a report of a car crashing into a building.

“Emergency services attended and a woman, a pedestrian, was taken to Ayr Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not injured.

“The road was closed and re-opened around 1.30pm.”
