A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car while walking in Glasgow.

A 37-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in the city after the collision around 12.20am on Monday.

Police were called to Balshagray Avenue near the junction with Crow Road after the man was hit by a grey Volkswagen Tiguan.

The road was closed for around five hours and reopened around 5.20am.

Constable Simon Parker said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist us, to make contact.

“I am also keen to obtain any dash-cam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 0093 of May 1, 2023.”
