A pedestrian killed in a three-vehicle crash in East Kilbride has been named by police.

John Paul McGinty, aged 35, lost his life in the collision which occurred on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene on the A726 at Queensway shortly after 6.30pm.

The incident occurred on the eastbound carriageway, east of the roundabout junction with Murrayhill and Cornwall Street.

Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2829 of December 7.”
