A pedestrian remains in hospital after being struck by a car near a roundabout in Irvine.
Emergency services were called to the A71, between the Warrix intercharge and Corsehill Mount roundabout, after a 45-year-old man was struck by a grey Toyota Auris at around 10.35am on Wednesday.
He was transferred to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
His current condition is described as stable.
Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses or any drivers with dashcam footage from the incident to come forward.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart from the Road Policing Unit at Irvine said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist us, to make contact.
“I am also keen to obtain any dashcam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.
“Anyone with information should contact us through 101 quoting reference number 4098 of April 19.”
