Passengers at Glasgow Airport faced a long wait at security following a “system issue” on Thursday morning.
The airport is implementing new security technology, but an error resulted in a “slightly longer” queue than normal, a spokesperson said.
One affected passenger described the scenes as a “complete disgrace”. An image taken in the airport shows the queue stretching beyond the security gates towards the multi-storey car park.
Andrew Nunn wrote: “Once again, security is a complete disgrace. The queues this morning are beyond the security gates, stretching right back to the multi-storey car park entrance.
“There are two lanes open — you are not staffing security appropriately, and this is a regular problem.”
Glasgow Airport confirmed that they were back operating as normal by 9am.
A spokesperson said: “As we move to new security technology we have experienced a system issue which is currently being fixed.
“Glasgow Airport experienced a slightly longer than normal queue this morning in the security hall.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank passengers for their patience.”
