A section of the M8 was closed during rush hour on Monday morning after a man was found injured.

The stretch of motorway heading westbound between Junction 26 Hillington Interchange and 27 Arkleston Interchange was shut by emergency services after reports of an injured individual.

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The road was closed as an investigation was carried out to establish the full circumstances.

The section of motorway has since reopened.

Sergeant Ryan Jardine, Paisley Police Office, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information, to please contact us.

“I’d also ask drivers with dashcams who were in the area at the time to please review your footage and bring anything you think may be significant to our attention.”
