Two people have been arrested after a man was found seriously injured in Paisley.
Emergency services were called out to an incident on Maxwellton Street in the town on Sunday at around 5.40pm.
A 26-year-old man was taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is in critical condition.
Two other men, aged 24 and 25, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Parts of the road remain closed.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 5.40pm on Sunday police were called to Maxwellton Street, Paisley, where a 26-year-old man was found seriously injured.
“He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
“Two men, aged 24 and 25 years, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing.
“Maxwellton Street is closed between Maxwellton Road and Gordon Street.
“Local diversions are in place in place.”
