Two men are being sought after another was attacked by a group of people at a railway station in East Ayrshire.

The incident occurred at around 9.29pm on Friday, at Kilmaurs station in Kilmarnock.

The victim is reported to have been attacked by multiple people on the platform.

British Transport Police have released descriptions of two people they would like to speak to in conenction with the assault.

The first is a white man with dark hair, who was wearing a black Aquascutum hoodie with the hood up. He was also seen wearing green and blue tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

The second is a white man who was wearing a black and grey Berghaus hooded top with the hood up. He was also wearing black trousers, dark trainers and was in possession of a small black dog on a leash.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40. In both cases quote reference number 676 of January 27, 2023.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
