A nursery and several streets were shut by emergency services as a man was arrested following a police incident.

Officers were called to a property on Archerhill Road in the Knightswood area of Glasgow at around 4am.

They were responding to a report of a concern for a person and a 40-year-old man was arrested.

Police said there was no threat to the wider public.

Pikeman Nursery on Archerhill Road was shut until the incident was resolved with parents notified the premises were within the cordon but not otherwise involved.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a concern for person around 4am on Wednesday, February 9, at a property in Archerhill Road, Glasgow.

“Officers attended and a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“There was no threat to the wider public.”
