There were a “number of arrests made” during Celtic’s Champions League clash against Aston Villa.
Winger Morgan Rogers scored a hat-trick in a dramatic encounter in Birmingham, which saw Celtic fall to a 4-2 defeat.
It comes after the Glasgow side fought back from two goals down to level the match following an Adam Idah double.
Off the pitch, West Midlands police confirmed there were incidents of disorder in the home and away sections of Villa Park.
There were also a “number of flares” lit by Celtic fans as they arrived at the stadium, however, there were no reports of any injuries.
The force confirmed that a number of arrests were made for a “variety of offences”.
A West Midlands police spokesperson said: “There were minor incidents of disorder in both the home and away sections of the stadium.
“A small number of arrests have been made for a variety of offences but the vast majority of fans were well behaved and enjoyed the game.”
Wednesday night’s defeat means Celtic finish in 21st place in the table and fans now know they will face a trip to either Madrid or Munich in the knockout round play-off of the UEFA Champions League.
