Flats could be built on the former location of a church in Wishaw.

North Lanarkshire Council has published plans for 15 flats to be built on a Caledonian Road brownfield location where the Methodist church once stood.

The homes would be part of the council’s ongoing efforts to provide thousands of new housing by 2035.

The local authority announced a total of 24 potential new build housing sites where it intends to construct homes within the next few years.

The largest of these would be a 170-unit development in the Dunbeth area of Coatbridge.
