A nine-year-old school girl has been left injured after being struck by a car in South Lanarkshire.
The child was on Hareleeshill Road in Larkhall , when the incident took place at around 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services attended and she was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Her current condition is not known.
The road was closed for a short time afterwards but it has since reopened.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the incident.
She said: “Officers were called to Hareleeshill Road, Larkhall around 3.30pm on Wednesday, following a crash involving a 9-year-old pedestrian.
“She has been taken to hospital by ambulance. The road was closed for a short time and has since reopened.”
