Nine suspects are accused of forming a £40,000 shoplifting ring.

John Prentice, 35, Charlene Holmes, 36, Josh Richardson, 22, Dylan Mack 28, Tyreece McDonald, 24, John Mack, 57, Lewis Holmes, 23, Hamza Ali, 25, and Mohammed Saleh, 30, feature on a string of charges.

The group, all from Glasgow, are said to have stolen clothing and accessories from a Footasylum at Silverburn Shopping Centre.

The charges span between November 2021 and January 2022.

It is claimed that the amount stolen ranged between £479 and £8,355 of items.

The charge sheet initially split the nine accused people into separate trials.

However, the charges were conjoined together at Friday’s trial date at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

All accused people except for Prentice and Saleh were present in the dock where they pled not guilty.

The two who did not appear had warrants granted for their arrest.

A new trial date was set for April this year by Sheriff Mark McGuire.
