Golf entertainment centre Topgolf is set to open its first Scottish venue in Glasgow, creating 300 jobs.
The venue, scheduled to open later in 2022, will be based just off the M74 near Rutherglen, as part of the Clyde Gateway development project.
The concept, originally founded in London, currently has 70 venues operating in six countries, and attracts more than 30 million players per year.
Visitors are being promised 72 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays, point-scoring games, food and drink, music, and more than 100 HD televisions.
Topgolf vice-president Steve Lane said: “The UK holds a special place in our hearts as it’s where our Topgolf story began. It seems very apt that the next leg of our journey takes us to Scotland, the original home of golf.
“The Glasgow venue will be like nothing the country has ever seen. We’re thrilled to kick-off this development together with our partners at Ashfield and introduce a venue where friends and families can safely play together and share experiences.”
