The family of a mother and daughter who died during linked attacks in Kilmarnock has raised almost £10,000 in funeral funds.
Emma Robertson Coupland, 39, died after being found injured in the car park of University Hospital Crosshouse on Thursday night.
In a second incident 20 minutes later on Portland Street, her daughter Nicole Anderson, 24, was stabbed to death.
Steven Robertson, 40, then died in a car crash linked to the women’s deaths in the East Ayrshire town.
Police said inquiries so far suggest the incidents are linked and officers are not looking for anyone else as part of their investigation.
Tributes flooded in for the women, who have been described as “the most funny, loving and bubbly people”, and now an online fundraising effort by Nicole’s sister-in-law has reached almost £10,000 to help Emma’s young daughters with funeral costs.
Alana King wrote: “As you will all have read in the papers and the news we tragically lost Emma and Nicole over the weekend leaving three young girls without a mum and sister.
“This is also left the three girls to pay for not only one funeral but two.
“I have decided to set up a go fund me page to help try and ease the financial stress of worrying about paying for there funerals even if it’s just a pound each every little helps.
“Everyone it’s absolutely devastated and heartbroken over their deaths – they were the most funny, loving, bubbly people I have ever known and never had a day where they weren’t smiling.”
