A murderer who raped a woman in a laundry room has had his prison term extended by four years.
Cameron Woods, 27, attacked his victim in Paisley, Renfrewshire, on April 16, 2023.
Woods is currently serving an 18-and-a-half-year sentence for fatally stabbing Robert Fisher, 26, three months after the rape.
Woods and then co-accused Stacey Balfour, 24, struck Mr Fisher at flats in Paisley and were convicted of his murder earlier this year.
He appeared by video link on Friday at the High Court in Glasgow after he was found guilty of rape.
Woods, of Paisley, repeatedly attempted to kiss his victim and uttered sexual remarks towards her.
He held a knife to her neck and went on to rape her.
Defence lawyer Callum Hiller told the sentencing that his client continues to profess his innocence.
Judge Sheena Fraser ordered Woods’ jail time for the rape to run consecutively to the murder prison sentence.
Woods was also put on the sex offenders register and subject to a non-harassment order which prohibits his contact with his victim both of which for indefinite periods.
The judge said: “You committed the heinous crime of rape by forcibly pulling a vulnerable woman into a secluded room and held a knife to her face to achieve your purpose.
“The use of a weapon in these circumstances along with your record affects the level of culpability.
“The victim impact statement sets out the impact on her which is clearly significant and long lasting. It is clear the level of harm inflicted is high.
“You have a horrendous criminal record which include crimes of violence and use of a weapon.
“There is no other method of dealing with this case other than custody.”
