A man was rescued from the River Clyde on Sunday night after “getting into difficulty” in the water.
Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 10.40pm near the village of Langbank in Renfrewshire.
A multi-agency rescue effort was launched to save the man, who was found during the night by a police helicopter.
“The police helicopter was involved in a multi-agency rescue last night when a person entered the River Clyde and got into difficulties,” Police Scotland said.
“The crew was able to locate the person in the darkness and assisted in guiding HM Coastguard and Police Scotland Inverclyde to the location.”
HM Coastguard sent another helicopter from Prestwick to the area as well as rescue teams from Greenock and Helensburgh.
The RNLI and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also attended and the man was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
