The M8 heading east has been closed following a crash involving multiple vehicles.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area surrounding junction 13 at Provan near Alexandra Park in Glasgow following a collision shortly after 1pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services are said to be on the scene with delays of over 20 minutes expected for motorists.
A Traffic Scotland post read: “The M8 at Junction 13 is currently closed eastbound due to a road traffic accident.
“Road users are advised to take an alternative for their journey.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The M8 in Glasgow is closed eastbound at J13 following a crash that happened around 1.10pm.
“Emergency services are in attendance.
“Local diversions are in place and road users are advised to avoid the area.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it is attending the scene of the crash.
