A man who died following a crash involving a motorcycle and a van in Argyll and Bute has been named by police.

The collision unfolded on the A819 near Tullich on Friday and involved a Triumph Tiger motorbike and a Ford Transit Luton van.

The rider of the motorcycle, Julien Marchand, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

The road was closed for around ten hours for investigations to take place.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney said: “Our thoughts remain with Julien’s family and friends as they come to terms with their loss.

“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and we are asking anyone who have any information to contact police.

“If you can assist our enquires in any way, please contact police on 101, quoting incident 2380 of May 23 2025.”
