A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after a crash with a car on the A83 north of Loch Lomond.

The collision, between a silver Honda motorcycle and a white Clio car, happened around 8.30am on Saturday just outside Crianlarich.

The 40-year-old man biker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries where he is described as being in a stable condition.

No one else was injured.

The road was closed for vehicle recovery and crash investigation work and re-opened around 2.10pm later the same day.

It is the latest in a string of serious motorcycle crashes in the last six weeks – so far, there have been at least seven deadly crashes.

Sergeant Colin Morrison said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing with anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.

“If you saw what happened then please make contact with us, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation.”
