A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after crashing into a barrier on a motorway slip road in Renfrewshire.

The 42-year-old male rider was the M8 on-slip road at Junction 25, Braehead around 8.55pm on Sunday, June 30 when he struck the barrier on his red and white Yamaha R6 motorcycle.

Emergency services attended and the rider was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who believes they saw the motorcycle on the road prior to the collision to get in touch.

“We believe the rider has travelled along Kings Inch Road and Old Govan Road prior to the incident at the on-slip for the M8.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 3408 of June 30.”
