Motorcyclist 'seriously injured' after crash with car

The male driver of the motorbike was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the crash on Thursday.

A man is in a “serious condition” in hospital after a crash involving a motorbike and a car in East Kilbride.

Police were called to a collision on the A726 Strathaven Road at around 8.20pm on Thursday, May 9 involving a black Hyundai Kona and a black BMW motorbike.

The male driver of the motorbike was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The driver and passenger of the car were taken to University Hospital Wishaw to be assessed.

Sergeant John Houston, from the Motherwell Road Policing unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and either witnessed the crash or has any potential dashcam footage from around the time, to please come forward.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call police on 101, quoting incident 3669 of May 9, 2024.”
