A motorcyclist has died following a crash in South Lanarkshire.

Officers said the rider, a 32-year-old man, died at the scene in East Kilbride on Friday.

He was riding a green Kawasaki motorbike when the crash happened at Glenburn Road at its junction with Glenburn Way at about 3.20pm.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward at this time.

Police Scotland sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to officers to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time who may have dash-cam to please review their footage and contact us if it holds anything relevant.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 2424 of August 30.”
