Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash with van on B7076 near Gretna

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital following a crash involving a van near Gretna.

Emergency services were called to the collision between an orange KTM 125 motorbike and a silver Volkswagen Transporter on the B7076 at around 2.45pm on Monday.

The 38-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries, with his condition being described as critical.

Police say the driver of the van was not injured.

The road remained closed until around 8.30pm while police conducted enquiries.

Sergeant Andrew Hogg said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
