A motorcyclist has died in a crash with a car in Motherwell as police issue an appeal for information.
Officers said the crash happened around 4.25pm on Monday, September 16 near the junction for Biggar Road on the A775 Edinburgh Road.
The collision involved a blue Yamaha YZF R1 motorcycle and a red Ford Focus car.
A 37-year-old man, the rider of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 59-year-old man, was not injured.
The road was closed for investigations to be carried out and reopened around 11.25pm on Monday.
Sergeant Nick Twigg, Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist is asked to get in touch.
“If you were driving near the area at the time and have not already spoken to police, or have dash-cam that could assist then please make contact with officers.”
