Motorcyclist and passenger seriously injured in crash with car

A motorcyclist and passenger have been seriously injured following a crash with a car in Ayrshire.

Police were called to reports of a crash involving a blue Yamaha motorbike and a blue Vauxhall Grandland car at the junction of Sharon Street in Torranyard around 9.20am on Saturday.

A 46-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, the rider and passenger of the motorbike, were taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A 34-year-old woman who was the passenger in the car was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for around seven hours for investigations.

Sergeant Adnan Alam said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage to come forward.”
