Motorcyclist, 70, fights for life after crash with car

A 70-year-old has been left in a critical condition after a crash in Ayrshire.

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after a crash in Ayrshire.

The 70-year-old, who was riding a black Aprilia motorcycle, suffered serious injuries in the collision with a car on the A736 Lochlibo Road to Torranyard at around 3.05pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, where remains in a critical condition.

The 55-year-old car driver was arrested in connection with the collision, but was later released without charge pending further enquiries.

Road policing sergeant Ian Thornton said: “Our investigation into what happened continues and we are keen to speak to anyone who has not yet spoken to officers.

“In particular we would like to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries. “Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101.”
