A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the B741 in South Ayrshire.

Police were called to reports of the collision involving a KTM 1290 Superduke R20 motorbike on the road southwest of Hamilton Bridge, Crosshill, around 4.55pm on Friday.

A 59-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other cars were involved.

The road was closed for around seven hours while emergency services were in attendance.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances”.

“We are asking anyone who may have information to contact us.  If you were on this road around the time of the crash and saw the motorcyclist or if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact us.”
