A police appeal has been launched after a motorbike was stolen from outside a shop in Motherwell.

Emergency services were called to Hamilton Road after a black Benelli motorcycle was stolen from outside a Best One Convenience Store between Tuesday, March 21 and Friday, March 24.

Officers revealed that the motorcycle was covered in police tape after being involved in a traffic incident.

A statement from Police Scotland read: “We’re appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle was stolen from Hamilton Road, Motherwell.

Between 6am on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 and 12.30pm Friday, March 24, the black Benelli motorcycle (VRM: SD72 YKY) was stolen from the pavement opposite the Best One Convenience Store.

“This is a busy area and we believe there will have been numerous people using the street during the times above.

“If you saw this motorcycle being moved or uplifted, or you have any information regarding the incident, please contact 101 quoting incident number 1683 of April 24, 2023.

“If you know any information but would rather remain anonymous, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
