A teenage boy missing from his home in South Lanarkshire boarded a train to London.

Kai Rae, 16, disappeared from Cambulang last Monday and travelled to Edinburgh Waverley Station.

From there, he took a train to London and was spotted leaving King’s Cross Station around 10.10pm that day.

He got into a taxi at one of the station’s ranks, with CCTV showing him wearing a black hoodie, dark blue jeans and dark trainers.

Kai was also wearing a black face mask, a backpack and carrying a dark blue paper bag.

British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police have joined the search for the teenager.

Inspector Stephen McManus said: “Kai has been missing for over a week now. It is extremely unusual for him not to be in contact with his family and they are understandably extremely worried.

“We have released these CCTV images of Kai at King’s Cross Station to show what he was last seen wearing in the hope that someone may recognise him or know where he may have travelled on to.

“Perhaps someone spoke to him at either of the train stations or on the trains?

“If Kai sees this appeal, I would ask him to please contact family, friends or police to let us know that he is safe.”

Kai is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build with short brown hair.

Anyone who may have seen Kai or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101.
