An urgent search is under way for an 11-year-old girl who disappeared from near an Asda superstore in the early hours of Monday morning.
Aine Bown left her home in Emily Drive in Motherwell and was last seen around 2.35am nearby the supermarket in Palace Grounds Road, Hamilton.
Police Scotland said concern for Aine’s welfare was growing and urged anyone who may have seen her to get in touch.
The schoolgirl is described as white, around 5ft 2ins, of slim build and has long brown hair which is sometimes tied up.
When last seen she was wearing a Black Gas Monkey t-shirt, a dark green Adidas zipper top, black leggings and black trainers.
Inspector Sacha Solman, from Hamilton Police Office, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Aine and her welfare and I would ask anyone who may have seen her or knows where she is to get in touch.”
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0554 of Sunday, August 14, 2022.
