Two suspects will stand trial accused of murdering a man by shooting him.
Robert Clark, 59, and Nathan Gordon, 31, allegedly assaulted Jordan Gray, 26, in Motherwell, Lanarkshire, on December 14, 2025.
Court papers claim that they repeatedly discharged a firearm at him as well as shot him on the body.
The charge states that the pair had previous malice and ill-will towards Mr Gray.
A separate charge says that Clark had a firearm and ammunition without lawful authority or a reasonable excuse on the same day.
A third allegation says that Clark and Gordon attempted to defeat the ends of justice on December 14 and December 15, 2025.
It is alleged that they disposed of the firearm and concealed their involvement to remove, conceal and destroy evidence.
Donald Findlay KC, defending Clark, pled not guilty on his client’s behalf.
The advocate said: “It is a straightforward matter, the Crown have got the wrong person.”
Graeme Brown, defending Gordon, also pled not guilty.
Prosecutor Kath Harper stated that at present “there is little that can be agreed”.
Judge Lord Matthews set a trial for October 2027 at the High Court in Glasgow.
