A masked man struck a woman with a tyre iron during a robbery at a cafe in North Lanarkshire.
The attacker entered the premises on Stewarton Street, Wishaw, and threatened staff before hitting a female worker with the tool, having stolen a three-figure sum of cash.
The woman suffered injuries to her arms but did not require hospital treatment after the incident, which happened around 10.40pm on Sunday, April 12.
Police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrator, who is described as being white, around 5ft 11ins tall and of athletic build.
He was wearing a black hooded zipper, black jeans or tracksuit bottoms and a balaclava.
Detective Sergeant Derrick Lunan said: “It is fortunate that the woman involved was not seriously injured in this incident.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to identify this man and we would urge anyone who may be able to help to come forward as soon as possible.
“In particular we would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or private CCTV of the area between 10.20pm and 10.45pm on Sunday.”
