A manhunt is under way after a hit and run with a stolen vehicle on Friday night in East Ayrshire.

At around 7.10pm on January 19, a red Audi crashed into a 43-year-old man on Mosshead Road in Kilmarnock before it fled the scene.

The male pedestrian suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The car was later abandoned on an unclassified road between the A719 and B744, Tarbolton.

It was established the car had been stolen from the Livingston area.

Detective constable Ross Brierley said: “Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“If you were in the Mosshead Road area on Friday night and witnessed anything suspicious or believe you can assist with our enquiries in any way, please get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams to review their footage of the area and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
