Manhunt launched after woman attacked during early hours in Glasgow

Police are searching for a man after a woman was attacked during the early hours in Glasgow.

Investigators do not know the exact day of the assault, but they believe it happened between June 26 and July 1, between the hours of 12am and 3am on Leyden Street near its junction with Bilsland Drive.

Officers are looking to speak to a man, described as white, approximately 5ft 7in tall, and of slim build. He was aged between 20 and 30 years old, with short brown hair and dark clothing, possibly a navy-blue tracksuit.

The woman involved is described as white, 5ft 6 in tall, and of slim build. She was aged between 20 and 30 years old, with dark hair worn in a bun. She was wearing a grey zip-up hooded top and blue checked pyjama bottoms.

Detective Constable Rose Bellshaw said: “We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a woman in distress or who has any other information.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or other footage which could help.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference CR/0290796/26, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
