An investigation has been launched after a woman was attacked and robbed in Ayrshire on Sunday.
Emergency services were called after a 64-year-old woman was approached by a man, who assaulted her and stole her handbag on Kilmarnock’s Gilmour street at around 1.50am.
The woman did not require medical treatment. The suspected attacker is described as a tall, white man with stubble, and wearing a dark jacket and hat.
Detective Constable O’Neil of Kilmarnock CID said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist our investigation.
“We are particularly eager to speak with a woman who was walking her dog near the chip shop on Welbeck Street shortly before the incident and may have spoken to the suspect.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0432 of December 22, 2024. Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
