A manhunt has been launched following a home invasion in Renfrewshire.
Three to five men broke into and attempted to rob a house in Houston’s Hewett Crescent at around 8.10pm on Saturday.
Detectives said two occupants within the property were “subjected to a frightening ordeal.”
The suspects are all described as wearing dark clothing, hats, and had their faces covered with black cotton type material face masks and all wore knitted black gloves.
Detective Constable Gary Bruce said: “While neither were injured, the two householders were subjected to a frightening ordeal before these men left the house.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing into this incident and I would urge anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the area on Saturday evening to get in touch.
“I would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3212 of 19 February, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
