The hunt for a gunman remains ongoing six days after a pensioner was shot outside a home in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to an address on Crichton Street in Springburn at around 12.40pm on May 28 after reports that a 78-year-old had been hurt.

Specialist firearms officers were deployed to the scene. The man was taken to hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening injury.

The road was closed at Gourlay Street following the incident.

Officers remain in the area amid ongoing enquiries.

Detective Inspector David Whyte said: “This appears to have been a targeted attack and our enquiries are ongoing.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us with any information, no matter how insignificant it may be.

“I would also ask anyone with dash cam, doorbell or other recording equipment to check their footage for any images which could assist us in our investigation.”

Those with information are urged to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1478.
