A man who raped a young girl claimed he was “not a danger to kids”.

Adam Blake was found to have committed the crime after a probe into another sex attacker he had been in contact with.

It lead to an old iPhone 11 that the 24-year-old warehouse worker had previously used being examined.

Photos of him attacking the girl in Glasgow’s east end in February 2022 were found.

Blake is now behind bars after he pleaded guilty to a rape charge.

Sentencing was adjourned at the High Court in Glasgow until December.

Nottinghamshire Police had been carrying out an investigation into a paedophile linked to indecent images of children in 2023.

Prosecutor Imran Bashir said it was discovered he had been in contact with Blake.

Details were passed to Police Scotland and Blake was later quizzed.

Two mobiles were initially seized, but nothing criminal was found on them.

However, Blake, now of the city’s Baillieston, said he had previously had an iPhone 11 that he now used for work.

This device was later checked and Mr Bashir told the court that “a small number” of indecent photos were on it as well as “a sequence of still images” of Blake attacking the child.

Blake insisted he did not “show or send” this to anyone.

Blake’s contact with the English-based paedophile was found on a device also examined as part of the probe.

He initially denied chatting to his fellow pervert on Snapchat, but then confessed to “dirty talk”.

He claimed that he thought the other individual was called “Aimee” and that he had got a “kick” out of conversations.

Mr Bashir said: “He went on to say that he was not interested in children.”

Blake said “other stuff” he was involved in was “disgusting”.

Mr Bashir said: “He stated that he could not regret it any more and that he was not a danger to kids.”

Blake also pleaded guilty to distributing or showing indecent images of a child as well as another offence under the Sexual Offences Act.

These charges spanned between October 2022 and May 2023.

Blake’s lawyer Gerry Brown had asked for Blake to remain on bail pending sentencing.

However, judge Lady Ross told Blake: “An application has been made to continue bail.

“But, your circumstances have changed. These are extremely serious offences and it is appropriate that you be remanded in custody.”

There were angry shouts in the court as Blake was lead handcuffed to the cells.

He will be sentenced on December 16 in Edinburgh.
