A man who allegedly hit a delivery driver with a traffic cone at an anti-immigration protest has appeared back in court on Wednesday accused of a further charge.

Callum Thomson, 30, is claimed to have assaulted Muhammad Yaqoob in Glasgow’s Bridge Street on July 25, 2026.

Court papers state Thomson “threw a traffic cone at him and did cause it to strike him on the body to his injury.”

The allegation is aggravated by prejudice related to race, colour, nationality or ethnic or national origins.

Thomson faces a separate charge of conducting himself in a disorderly manner in the city’s Glasgow Green, Jamaica Street, Commerce Street, Oswald Street, Clyde Street and Bridge Street on the same day.

It is alleged that Thomson, of the city’s Pollokshields, wore a balaclava and gloves.

The charge goes on to say he formed part of a disorderly crowd, approached police cordons and challenged officers in attendance there.

It is stated that he also repeatedly shouted, swore, chanted and uttered racially offensive remarks.

A third charge was added to his petition on Wednesday during a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The charge says Thomson assaulted an unknown man by running towards him and pushed him to the ground.

No pleas were made to the charges at the court hearing where he was represented by his lawyer Brian Fitzpatrick.

Thomson was committed for further examination and granted bail by Sheriff Simone Sweeney.

His next court date is to be determined.
