A man who died after being injured in an incident at a holiday park in Wemyss Bay has been named by police.

Emergency services were called to Rothesay Gardens around 12.05am on September 14 following reports of a man having been injured.

A 33-year-old man, named as Raymond Cosgrove, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: “I’m aware this incident will be a cause of concern for people and I would like to confirm Raymond’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this time.”
